Southern Chic

One of the defining characteristics of southern style is a strong sense of place. And that is what homeowner Vickie T. wanted when she envisioned her home’s interior: a place where family and friends can find immeasurable comfort and familiar things. The key to Vickie’s design was utilizing the open floor plan so that people can move around with ease, but also to create enclosed and intimate spaces for reading or conversation with guests. Additionally, to meet Vickie’s atheistic needs, her home needed to be a custom combination of modern and traditional, fresh and feminine, relaxed and formal. Vickie’s vision was achieved by providing a comfortable and inviting living room with a collection of soft fabrics and bold accessories. The dining room is party-ready, with an elegant and simple wood dining table mixed with gold-striped silk drapes and tall-backed bullion trimmed end chairs. In the intimate master suite there is a delicate claw-foot bathtub nestled underneath ruched silk drapery complete with dimmable lighting to set the mood for soaking away the day’s worries.
